Rn series one - and two-stage with frequency inverter 37-225 kW (1.64-45.3 m³ / min.)
All Ingersoll Rand Rn / Rne rotary screw compressors are equipped with the latest generation of 1 or 2 stage screw units, designed using the latest advances in compressor technology and a long history of previous generation screw compressors.
Ingersoll Rand compressor screw blocks are manufactured by the GHH-RAND division of the company. They do not require maintenance throughout their entire service life, except for periodic oil changes once a year or 8000 operating hours.
Description
The screw compressor of the "Rn" series with variable capacity is the modernized successor of the compressors of the "NIRVANA" series with engines over 37 kW. Compressor units of the "Rn" series instantly respond to the required amount of compressed air, reducing or increasing their performance when disconnecting or connecting production equipment, saving energy and optimally supplying compressed air to the production process. This is achieved through an integrated motor speed converter and Ingersoll Rand's unique and advanced Hybrid Permanent Magnet (HPM®) motor technology. This motor has a higher efficiency, compared to asynchronous motors used in compressors from other manufacturers, it can be switched on and off an unlimited number of times during an hour. The starting currents of the HPM® motor are 7–10 times less than that of induction motors. The efficiency of a permanent magnet motor does not change over the entire range of rotation speeds, in contrast to induction motors, the efficiency of which depends on the speed of rotation of the engine and drops to 50-60% when the number of revolutions decreases. This results in an additional energy saving of approximately 15% compared to other variable speed compressors and induction motors.
Also, unlike asynchronous motors, the HPM® motor has no restrictions on the number of starts / stops, which allows it to start an unlimited number of times - as a result, the NIRVANA compressor does not have an idle mode, i.e. actually has a regulation range from 0 to 100%. In the "idle" mode, the compressor does not generate compressed air, and its main electric motor continues to work and consume electricity, this mode is the most uneconomical in the operation of compressors. Also, the HPM® electric motor has no bearings in its design and therefore does not require maintenance.
